4 miles (6.4km) due north.  Germanna Community College, Southpointe, Massaponax, and Cosner's Corner -- three mega-shopping areas -- and a new hospital now under construction, lie a 10-minute drive southeast. 

Dulles International airport lies 1¼ hours to the northwest.   Washington DC is a 1½ hour (non-rush hour) drive, 55 miles (88.5km) due north on I-95 (or via Amtrak or VRE commuter rail, direct from Fredericksburg).  Richmond VA lies nearly equidistant, due south.  Local shopping and bus stop lie about ¼ mile (.4 km) distant.
